I call them “garden rooms” because they are attached to the rear of the house and they overlook the garden. A Shelton-designed garden room has most, or all, of these characteristics:
A kitchen “pass-thru” and access to the family room
Fully independent heating and air conditioning systems
Exterior and interior finishes that match the existing house
An adjoining deck with composite deck surface and vinyl rail system
Lots of windows, including a dramatic gable design
Vaulted ceilings
Skylights
And as with all Shelton additions, it does not look like an “Addition”!
